walking time.

Long time no post.
Today I made the decision to walk to work instead of taking the bus. The public transportation system authority has announced major cuts to bus service and metrolink commuter train service and fare increases. The cuts come on the heels of a failed bid to increase taxes to support public transportation in Saint Louis. The reasons Saint Louis County voters gave for voting against the half cent sales tax increase are legion but it is my opinion that racism played a big part in peoples vote against. I live in the city and was unable to vote on prop M. I would have voted for the tax increase. I believe a city needs good public transportation to be vibrant and useful to the citizenry. Here is a break down, a 25-cent fare increase for MetroLink and public transportation buses, starts Jan. 1, 2009.
One-way fares will increase from $2 to $2.25 along the light-rail line, and from $1.75 to $2 on Metro buses. Both fares will increase again by another 25 cents July 1, 2010.
Monthly bus and train passes will increase from $60 a month to $68 a month. And passes will increase, again, to $70 on July 1, 2010.
I can no longer afford the monthly pass so now I walk. Great job Saint Louis County residents! Great job Metro for not doing a better job managing money!

day off

I took a day off from work today. I will call it a sanity day.
I had planned to catch up on reading but so far I have only eaten lunch.
I need to shower before I do anything else.

Work, home and restaurant to eat.

I have been think that I need to work on myself. I need a new goal. I have been sort of directionless for the last seven years.

We had to put our cat to sleep today. She was real sick.
Her name was Chloe and she was a real character.
We were very attached to her. We miss her very much.

My job is getting on my nerves.

I moved from North county. I used to take the number 16 bus, the metro link and the 59 just to get to work.
The 16 was called the City Limits passed throught the Wellston loop before turning down Hamilton.
I really like the Wellston loop building. Hamilton used to be an interesting street some of the old abandoned buildings that I liked were torn down.

moved to a new location.

Well I moved. I sold my house and moved to an apartment. I moved to south city. I ride a new bus line. The line is the 95 Kingshighway. The 95 lines is very differnt. Not bad or good. Just diffent.
The sun was real hot today.

mothers Day.

I have to call my Mom. She is cooking dinner for her mother and her mother in law. No one is cooking for her. She does so much for others.

a new start?

Blogging is hard!
I have tried several times to write something interesting. My original idea was to write about riding the bus but I could never commit to words the things I have observed. I don't really belive it to be all that interesting. I have decieded to take a differnt aproach. I am not sure what that approach is or will be but I will let you know when I know. I might end up writing about the bus trips after all.

Uneventful. Preferable.

Slow day still raining. No bus ride for me today. I will be riding in a car. I am hunting for new studio space and a new place to live.
I don't have anything more to write.
I am bland, boring and other.

Crap... It is raining. The gound will be wet and mixed with trash. Wet paper always sticks to my foot on days like this.

back after a long time gone.

Well it has been along time since I wrote last. I'm not sure if I even have anyting to write that might interest anyone.
I think I will use this to improve my writing.
When I first started to write this blog I had visions of creating a memoire of my riding public transportation. I have been riding the bus and metrolink for 18 months. The things that intrest me might seem to be too exploitive if I were to write about them. I will have to think about how or if I want to share any of this. For now I will just write random things.
I don't even know if anyone has seen this blog.
Anyone out there?

a long time no post

I has been along time since I have posted. Well not much to say other than I have been riding the bus for alsmost a year.

new bus pass

My post have been sporatic but I guess the busy life is what it is.
This blog was suppose to be about my adventures riding the bus. I suppose it will be eventually but for now it is just a day by day of my life. I guess it will include the bus.
Not much to write about today.
Got up, ate, watched TV and added songs to itunes.
Yesterday I bought a bus pass for December. Shopped for groceries.

a year of riding the bus

Well I finaly did it. I broke with big oil. I got rid of my car!
I'll explain later but to keep this short. My car is dead and I refuse to buy new. Used cars are a money pit and I decided to get off that track. In September I started taking the bus. October I bought a monthly pass and now I'm hooked.
